In the past we found 1 item that Nike made in the USA; virtually every product Nike manufactures is not made in USA.
Nike is known for outsourcing their manufacturing; upon reviewing their “Global Manufacturing” map, we found only 63 so called factories listed in the USA. Most of the listed factories seemed to be related to promotional items; graphics, lettering, embroidery, logo etc….. . After review of the world map we found that Nike has relations with over 1 million+ foreign workers employed in 520+ factories.
Note: The One million workers mentioned above work for mostly foreign production related facilities and are not considered Nike employees; according to the Marketwatch.com website, Nike has 76,700 employees.
The Australian think tank (ASPI) includes Nike in its research that has identified 82 foreign and Chinese companies potentially directly or indirectly benefiting from the use of Uyghur workers outside Xinjiang through abusive labour transfer programs”. You can find evidence that suggests the communist party of China enslaves members of the Uyghur minority, forcing them into slavery, picking and harvesting cotton. Nike states it “does not source products from the XUAR and we have confirmed with our contract suppliers that they are not using textiles or spun yarn from the region” where slavery exists.
The “professional and college players get their equipment for free“; the new made in Taiwan, Vapor Untouchable brand of Nike Shoes was seen on all four College Football Playoff teams in the 2015 bowl season. The marketing process helps create a class of citizen that purchases foreign made products and has no interest in country of origin.
It is a shame that the NFL, and other professional and college teams do not support the companies that create jobs and make apparel here in the USA. According to the Conservative Clergy of Color Nike “plays into the hands of anarchists here in the USA and ignores slavery abroad“. Visit a USA based Sportswear company that makes team apparel in America, WSI Sports Inc.
In the past we found one pair of USA made Nike socks in the Dunham’s Sports store, today the socks are currently not available. We searched the Nike website, after typing ” made in usa ” into the search box all results found are imported and are not made in USA. Searching further we did not find any US made socks, hopefully that will someday change.
Even the products listed on the Made in USA search results page of their website are imported.
- Note: Always verify the product you wish to buy is American made!
