NECCO (New England Confectionery Company) established 1847 is the oldest US multi-line candy company. NECCO® Wafers, Sweethearts® Conversation Hearts, Mary Jane®, Clark®, Haviland® Thin Mints, SkyBar, Mighty Malts®, Candy House® Candy Buttons, Squirrel Nut Zippers®, Masterpieces, Candy Cupboard, and Candy Raisins are manufactured, packaged, and distributed from the world headquarters facility, located in Revere, MA. The company is a subsidiary of American Capital Strategies Ltd.
The American made NECCO Haviland® brand of Candies include delicious Thin Mints, and other Chocolate Covered Nuts and Raisins.
The Thin Mints are all natural and gluten-free. The patty type mint comes in three varieties; orange, peppermint, and raspberry mint centers are surrounded by a premium 63% cacao chocolate. Also available are Wintergreen Patties made with a mint center coated with real chocolate. The other Haviland® candy products include; Bridge Mix, Double Coated Peanuts, Chocolate Covered Raisins, and Nonpareils. In the 18th century Nonpareils were used as an American cake decoration, it is a French word meaning “without equal”, today the candy is a chocolate drop dusted with gourmet sprinkles.
We also found the old favorite Mary Jane® candy on the NECCO website. The candy was originally made in 1914 by The Charles N. Miller Co.; it was named after his aunt. The candy has a peanut butter center and is wrapped by a molasses flavored taffy.
