“According to Syracuse.com, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) wrote a letter to the president in January 2017 asking him to use American-made flatware, glassware, and other entertainment necessities in an effort to find common ground…..
President Trump promised to do so, replying, “I’ll buy it, I’ll buy it.”
However, it’s been over a year since Liberty Tabletop / Sherrill Manufacturing’s flatware proposal was brought to the attention of Trump, and the flatware finally made an appearance in the White House on Monday — but on a temporary display instead of permanently in use.”
Liberty Tabletop eating utensils have been featured in the “Made In America Product Showcase” at the White House.
“In the early days of the pandemic, the U.S. government turned down an offer to manufacture millions of N95 masks in America…. after months a contract was awarded with a $55 million deal (which was later cancelled) to provide masks for as much as $5.50 a piece, eight times what the government was paying months earlier.” Finally, “On April 7, FEMA awarded Prestige Ameritech a $9.5 million contract to provide a million N95 masks a month for one year, an order the company could fulfill without activating its dormant manufacturing lines.
