DuPont is a multinational company known for chemical and chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) production. Today they “are the world’s premier science company in the business of finding market-driven solutions that harness the power of science to address some of the world’s biggest challenges: food security, protection of the environment and people, and renewable energy.” Over 10% of their 63,000 employees work in China and many of their products are foreign made.
Teflon® and Freon® are products that are produced by DuPont. Teflon non-stick coatings that have been heated have been deemed harmful to people and to birds. It has been discovered that chlorofluorocarbons such as Freon were destroying Earth’s ozone layer.
American Made Products
The Minerals Ilmenite, Starblast, and Zircon are domestically sourced from Florida by DuPont. The “protection of the environment and people” located in the mining area is remarkable.

- Zircon: A high-strength mineral, used to produce porcelain tile and china.
“It is used to produce high-performance metals for military and aerospace applications and is a zirconium bearing mineral.”
DuPont manufactures Tyvek®, Kevlar®, and Mylar® in the USA.
Tyvek® is a nonwoven material “made of pure high density polyethylene fibres randomly laid and compressed to form a remarkably tough substrate that is ideal for all applications where durability & tear resistance is of prime importance.”
Kevlar® is used in various military and commercial applications; it absorbs high impact pressures and reduces penetration and has low thermal conductivity. Kevlar is pound for pound 5 times stronger than steel.
Mylar® is a stretched polyester film. “This material is primarily used in food and household good packaging, as well as medical, electronics, and industrial applications.”
