Ames True Temper is the oldest, manufacturer of garden hand tools in the USA. They are owned by the Griffon Corporation, a diversified manufacturing firm. We found over 50, 100% US made long-handled tools on the “True American” page of their website; the page is listed below.
Ames has a 6 pound wood spiting tool; the Maul has a 36″ hickory handle. On one end of the maul head is a splitting blade and on the other end is a striking head for use with a woodsplitting wedge.
We also found several types of Shovels, they have a long handle style and a short handle (26″) with a hand grip for added leverage and control. The US made Shovel is available with a square or pointed tip and some of them have fiberglass handles.
